Blog in print

For those of you who blog via Blogger, did you notice the little ad for Blog2Print? Well, I must say this is a very cool service. I was thinking to myself (earlier) that it would be nice to have a printed book, documenting my wedding planning process. I know, I know, it seems silly at this point. But for me it was a significant chapter in my life and the planning process holds a special place in my heart, right next to the wedding itself.

I uploaded my own blog, just to see how much it would cost & such. I spent a little time looking at the features too. What's nice about it is that you can set a range like Nov 2008 - October 2009, then edit the posts that you want to include. Plus, you can preview the whole book before you order.

I don't know, I've always been a documenter, mainly because I enjoy reading what I thought & did at a particular time in my life. It's amazing how much you forget! And honestly, how cool would a book documenting a pregnancy be? You could totally show it to your child later on. I think that would be neat.

What are your thoughts about documentation? Obviously we all take photographs during significant times in our lives. Do you think our words are just as important to warrant a book? I wonder... do blogs replace the need of a handwritten journal? If you're a writer-type, what platform do you use to express yourself?

I`m definitely interested in printing parts of my blog. It`s been such a fun yet challenging process planning our wedding, as I`ll have been planning it for well over a year by June.

Thanks for the suggestion. I`m off to check it out right now.

I love documenting. I was on yearbook, so it's something I've done for years. I keep a baby calender so every time Penny does something new I write it on her calender. I hope blogs are around for a long time so that Penny can read what I wrote when I was pregnant. I may copy and save everything for her on a cd, if those still exist in the future. LOL But, thats cool that you can publish your blog. What a great concept.

I've been keeping a blog for almost 10 years over on livejournal, but I don't update it quite as frequently now, save for twitter updates. I've often thought of printing my blog entries into a book, but it would be gigantic! I started a wedding blog last May, but haven't been keeping it as updated as I'd like with married life anecdotes. Something to keep on my to-do list!
