I might have mentioned a couple of times now that I'm into documentation. I even posted once during the wedding planning phase that I'd like to start journaling again, like documenting my inner thoughts and life happenings. Realistically, I can't see myself sitting down and writing paragraphs about my life on a daily basis, so I scrapped the idea.
But still... I wish that I documented more during Gary & my early relationship. I yearn to go back, because I love reading the way I saw things at a certain point in time. Enter this blog. The Social Archivist speaks about the difficulty of keeping an actual record of life's events since there are so many mediums that are used today, e.g. facebook, twitter, emails, text messages. Now, I don't tweet nor do I text for reasons that I could easily devote a whole post to. I do however make use of facebook status updates. How is it different? Well, I'm not exactly sure, but I quite like writing tiny blurbs, sometimes witty or sarcastic in nature.
So, all this rambling and you're wondering...Didn't she say she's starting a side project? Yes I did. Well it's another blog called LIFE IN STATUS.

Each day, at the end of the day, I will list (very simply) my day. Sometimes things I/we did. Sometimes a thought, feeling or mood. A series of self-reflective, perhaps mundane sentences. But the key is limiting each subject to a single sentence. That keeps this style of journaling time efficient.
It's currently a private blog, just for me. Why? Because I'm not exactly sure how personal it will get and believe it or not, I'm a little shy about my personal thoughts. I don't want to have to censor what I'm doing/thinking for an audience.
Do you keep a journal? For what purpose?

I love this! Genius idea. I love to go back and read old (paper) journals of mine.
I think that is an amazing idea. I also struggle wishing that I would journal and sometimes I start one only to not get into a daily habit and eventually forget.
i am crazy about journaling. i have one that i write a tiny blurb of what i did that day and a larger leather bound book that all my thoughts and emotions go into. i write in the short one every day without fail and the larger one when i have something more to say. i think it is a great idea to start one. i love to go back and see what i was doing/thinking years ago. i also think it is a good idea to keep it personal. there are some things you just don't want to share.
