I think this would be a lovely way to personalize a gift or a journaling book for yourself. Start with a basic notebook or planner, cover it in a leather or fabric book jacket & sew an antique key to the front.
Another lofty idea...
Create an interesting hidden charging station on the cheap by hollowing out an old vintage book.
