Plans: guest bathroom

This is our guest bathroom. I try to limit my totally girly spaces to isolated areas in the house in order to keep the common areas gender neutral. And like my office, the guest bathroom is vintage Parisian style. I had very little time to contemplate paint when we moved in, so everything got the blanket creamy white treatment. One thing I'm totally smitten with right now is black walls. Gasp! In a tiny bathroom?! Yes.

So paint has in fact already been purchased and applied. Wow, that was fast. Well I had this wild hair and just decided to go for it. But you should have heard the checkout girl at Lowes. It went something like this -

"Black, huh? What room is this for?"
Me: "Bathroom"
"Lots of windows?"
Me: "No windows."
"Hmmm." Oooo-kay."

Anyways, while I'm finishing up the painting & getting everything back together, enjoy some more inspiration...
sources: via Once Wed, unknown, the rest from here.

-Black painted walls with contrast white ceiling and 5" baseboards (already in room)
-Matching black painted cabinets with new vintage-inspired hardware
-Pops of color using berry tones. Think peony pinks and rich eggplant with lilac
-French regency decor (existing artwork & accessories)
-Contemporary elegance with a touch of vintage whimsy

Whew. Did you get all that?

I would really love to try hand-painting one of the walls utilizing Kate's stencil technique. Although I think I need to practice on a different surface first.
