Snow Day

Shortly after my return from New York, Husband had the very fine idea of renting a cabin for the weekend in Big Bear. This couldn't be a more perfect year - best conditions and at the end of March? YES!

The drive up was a bit scary. This was the visibility. It had just snowed and I was amazed by the horizontal icicles on the mileposts from all the wind. Tiny tree branches had an inch of snow on them.

We decided to go sledding at Snow Valley. They offer a lift service sledding package, which is totally worth it! All fun and no hiking up the hill.

I shot a couple videos going down the run. The snow during the morning hours was fantastic. We were hauling ass down that run riding double. haha. But towards the end of the day it wasn't uncommon to get stuck in the sled grooves in the snow.

We took a few breaks from the cold and warmed up with an Irish Nut...Bailey's Irish Cream mixed with hazelnut liqueur and coffee. Yum!

After we had our share of snowplay we headed up to the cabin for some R&R, which included a dip in the jacuzzi tub.
For dinner we headed down to The Village and ended up at the El Jacalito Grill for a giant plate of fried & cheesy goodness. Here's Gary with a giant 32 mug of Dos XX. With our bellies full, we retired back to the cabin. We channel surfed between Back To the Future and Ghostbusters. Perfection? I think yes.

We headed back home in the morning. Luckily it was clear and beautiful. You really can't beat the view. I wouldn't mind retiring up here.

The End.
