Branch bowl chandelier

There's nothing like a good DIY to get the blood flowing in the morning. This is our closet. Can you guess what's hanging over the light? Yep. It's a bowl.

I found it some time ago at Home Goods when I was on a spray painting kick - You know - when you suddenly have the urge to find things just so you can transform them with spray paint. This was a black metal bowl that became white then sat in my cabinet for close to a year. Now it's a woodsy chandelier. I bet it didn't see that one coming.

Here's how I did it:
The light in the first photo washes out the detail. Here, you can see how it's suspended.

Supplies
*(4) 10lb drywall screw mounts (probably overkill, but that's what I had in my toolbox)
*(4) screw hooks (I used the kind for hanging coffee cups, but you can also use eyelit screws)
*silver florist wire (If you don't have florist wire in your DIY toolkit, I highly recommend you add it. I've found dozens of uses for it)

Tools
*power drill (This was a gift from my parents to my husband, but somehow I've used it the most. haha)

First, I measured and marked the four corners for my drill holes. Next I used a power drill for the areas I marked and inserted (4) small drywall screw mounts. Then I twisted the hooks into the mounts. Using the florist wire, I made little loops and attached to the bowl for hanging. That's it. I finished this before I even had my morning coffee.

It's a simple light upgrade and it really adds character to our modern woodland bedroom.

You never fail to amaze and inspire. Also, this post makes me despise the overhead lights in our house now, gee thanks. ;)
