It's come time to make another Ikea purchase. Our extra dishes and stemware are haphazardly placed in three separate locations and it's time to condense it down. Our current setup involves a bar cabinet and an adjacent open shelf. While I love the idea of open shelving, it's really not practical with earthquakes, crowded parties and children.
The open slant shelf is going away and this BESTA unit is going in the far left corner next to the existing bar cabinet. I wish Ikea still carried frosted doors so everything could match, but alas they do not.
I recently picked up an Ikea Family card, which is a free discount card. It took all of 2 minutes to get from an automated machine. It's saving me $45 on this purchase. Just passing the tip along to fellow Ikea fans.

I love my Ikea family card. You know it gets you free coffee or tea every time you stop in right? Also, free chocolate cake certain days if you buy a meal. Can you tell I go to Ikea half the time just for the food? Can't help it.
I love the new hutch! We definitely need more room for stemware storage. We have everyday red and white wine glasses and crystal wine, water and champagne glasses. We also have 16 everyday champagne glasses, because champagne should be an everyday occasion. The point is, these items are scattered all over in various cupboards. I'd love to have everything in one place!
I really like the hutch! It looks great! Do all Ikea's have family cards available?
